Dear BW IT Team Members,

Don Marino, Infor XA Support Analyst, will retire on February 27 after ten years of service with Barry-Wehmiller. Don, who is based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, is an exceptional contributor whose commitment and teamwork have left a meaningful and lasting impression on the BW IT organization. Many of our IT team members consider it a privilege to have collaborated with him during his time here.

Don began his career with Pneumatic Scale Angelus (PSA), now a part of BW Packaging, in Akron, Ohio as an AS/400 developer. After around five years in this role, Don made the move to BW, but continued to support PSA plants in Ohio, Florida, and Parma, Italy. Don’s second position was an IT Programmer/Analyst on the BW Packaging Platform ERP Team. After three years in this position, Don took on his current position as an Infor XA Support Analyst on the Enterprise Application Support Team. In this role, Don primarily has supported the Packaging platform while assisting Papersystems and Converting platforms, contributing to elite accounting forms work across several key initiatives, including centralizing accounts payable check printing in St. Louis; progress billing implementations for the RR and GG environments; Packaging’s Project Unleashed, and the Accounts Receivable Invoice Optimization project in the FF environment.

Don’s leader, Claude Stolz, Director, Enterprise Application Support, refers to Don as “Mr. Elite.” Claude adds, “Don has always been someone who steps up to help others, improve processes, and streamline work—all while delivering outstanding customer service. He should be known as Mr. Elite, for all the forms he’s developed and enhanced within our XA ERP system. He has made a significant impact supporting our Enterprise ERP XA applications across BW Packaging, especially with the team at BWFC in Akron, Ohio. We are proud of everything he has accomplished during his time in IT, and his peers, along with many team members he has supported over the years, will truly miss him. With deep appreciation, we wish him continued health, happiness, and fulfillment in his retirement.”

Don shares many fond memories of his time spent with BW. “I will always look back to the days when I drove into the office at PSA in Cuyahoga Falls and the many friends I made while working with them to help resolve their issues. There were also a lot of good places to eat around that location!”

In retirement, Don plans to spend more time with his family. His youngest daughter already has a “honey-do list” made! He also hopes to enjoy many more Ohio State Buckeye football games in person. Don looks forward to tackling projects around the house, possibly getting a vacation property, and spending more time outside doing activities such as fishing, hiking, gardening, and cycling. Don also hopes to attend local cruise-ins with his 1968 Pontiac Firebird, purchase another classic car to drive across Route 66, and to visit friends, family, and new places.

Today, we proudly celebrate Don as he steps into this exciting new chapter of retirement. Please join us in expressing our heartfelt appreciation for the meaningful impact he has made throughout his time at Barry‑Wehmiller.

Sincerely,

Frank Lanuto
