Dear BW IT Team Members,

Julie Collier, Business Systems Leader EMEA, will retire on January 29, after thirteen years of service with Barry-Wehmiller. Julie, who is based in Nottingham, is an outstanding team member whose dedication and collaborative spirit have made a lasting impact on the BW IT team. It has been a great honor for many of our IT team members to have worked directly with her over the years.

Julie began her career with BW in 2013 as a Business Analyst with the International IT team (based in the United Kingdom), covering all sites outside of the United States. Over the years, she has served both Enterprise and BW Papersystems (BWP) as a Business Analyst and, for the last five years, as Business Systems Leader for BWP.

Scott Beaton, Enterprise WAN/LAN Admin, reflected on his time spent collaborating with Julie: “I remember when Julie first started. While her role was outside of the infrastructure team and was to focus on apps, she became very quickly integral to the International IT team. She brought a wealth of experience and a passion for improvement. Early on in this new team, she brought in processes that led to increased resilience and a better support experience to team members within Europe and Asia, in a short space of time.”

Julie’s leader, Veera Saranathan, VP, IT Business Transformation & Optimization, shares appreciation for Julie’s ability to consistently demonstrate exceptional leadership by bringing diverse teams together to successfully execute key initiatives. Veera added, “She has been a trusted partner to business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with their requirements and delivering solutions that meet strategic objectives. We wish her all the best in her retirement.”

Julie said that one of her most enjoyable, and most challenging, roles was the integration of the Bielomatik business into BWP in 2015/2016. “It was enjoyable because of the people I worked with from both businesses,” Julie said. “One of the things I will miss when I retire is the interaction with the BW people.”

In retirement, Julie, a qualified reflexologist, plans to devote more time to that practice. Reflexology, a therapy that applies pressure to specific points on the body, can serve to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and help the body heal itself. Julie also hopes to improve her photography skills and spend time watercolor painting, traveling, joining activities in her village, and walking her five-year-old Cockapoo, Lottie!

Today, we proudly congratulate and send our best wishes to Julie as she begins her retirement journey. Please join us in extending our sincere thanks for the significant contributions she has made during her time at Barry-Wehmiller.

Sincerely,

Frank Lanuto

Chief Information Officer, Barry-Wehmiller
