New peer-to-peer Shine the Light Award coming January 16!

Thanks for the feedback shared by many of you through the Every Voice Matters cultural assessment—we heard YOU!

What we heard:

Our team members miss the focus on recognition and celebration that was a hallmark of the BW culture in many locations prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. We agree!

How we are responding:

On January 16th, BW is launching a new peer-to-peer recognition program to highlight exceptional performance and increase recognition around the organization. The Shine award is designed to "shine a light" on team members who exceed expectations while fulfilling one of our five Team Member Commitments: Communicates Effectively, Customer Focus, Drives Results, Instills Trust, Optimizes Work Processes. Anyone can nominate eligible team members for a Shine award.* Local recognition partners in each organization will work with nominators on celebrating the recipient.

BW’s overall goal is to award 1,000 Shine Awards by the end of 2025, so get ready to nominate a deserving team member when the program goes live on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024!

*All BW platforms and companies, except Alliance, Afinitas, Machine Solutions and Cor Partners, will be participating. Eligible team members are defined as 450 Euro worker, apprentice (fixed term), casual, fixed term (fixed term), intern/ co-op (fixed term), regular, regular-ex pat, regular on assignment (fixed term) or temporary. Ineligible team members are defined as Agency Temp, Unpaid Intern, Contingent, Contractor Long-Term or Contractor Short-Term.

How to nominate a deserving peer:

Nominations can be made via Workday or paper forms (if available in your location). Watch for emails, posters and flatscreens with details.

For immediate questions or more information, go to bw.care/shine or contact your local People Team representative.

We’re committed to change!

As we strive to be an organization where every person feels like they matter, we appreciate the feedback you shared in the Every Voice Matters assessment. We are continuing to plan and roll out actions in response to your feedback at the enterprise and local level. Look for communication in the coming weeks and months about additional actions. Thank you for expanding our capacity for caring!
