CARR Rapid Improvement Event helps eliminate frustrating workflows

CARR Biosystems, which develops separation solutions for the bioprocessing industry, is one of BW’s Operational Excellence 2.0 Model Sites. Within each Model Site, team members are collaborating with the BW Continuous Improvement Team to design optimal workflows and reduce non-value-added activities throughout a product build. BW Papersystems team members build access and independence for local neighbor in need —one board at a time

BW Papersystems (BWP) in Sheboygan, WI (US), recently partnered with Rebuilding Together, a national organization dedicated to revitalizing communities through free home repair, to build a new deck for a local woman who was unable to enjoy the outdoors due to mobility challenges. Thanks to the BWP team’s craftsmanship and compassion, the new deck not only restored her access to fresh air and sunshine but also renewed her sense of independence. The homeowner was incredibly grateful and shared a heartfelt thank-you letter to the team. This community engagement project serves as a powerful reminder that building a better world can start with something as simple as building a better deck.

To improve the security of our company e-mail and reduce our exposure to phishing attacks, we will soon transition to a new e-mail security system. An early step in the transition is to move all BW team members from the Proofpoint PhishAlarm button (that we currently use to report suspicious emails) to the Microsoft Report button. Please be aware that the Microsoft Report button will appear further to the left on the ribbon than the PhishAlarm button.

Team members, it is time to prepare for End-of-Year Discussion Meetings

The final phase of BW's Performance Cycle, End-of-Year Discussions, will begin on August 25 for all BW team members who are participating. During this phase, team members and their leaders reflect on and discuss individual performance toward goals and Commitments. Through this reflection and dialogue, leaders assign an overall summary rating for the fiscal year. As a team member, all goals must be final in Workday by August 25. As part of a growing global organization with a culture of care, all BW team members have a duty to follow our policies. We also have a responsibility to regularly complete required trainings, which reinforce our policies. Each year, policies and trainings applicable to your role/location are shared via Workday— login, navigate to the Awaiting Your Action section and complete all steps assigned to you by November 30.
