BW PAPERSYSTEMS

Instagram post featuring BWP goes viral—1.4 million views!

Recently Bob Chapman and Simon Sinek spoke to team members of BW Papersystems (BWP) in Phillips, WI (US). Emmet Fahrenkrug, teenage son of BWP’s Director of Training & Development Annie Fahrenkrug and big fan of Sinek, implored his mother to attend. An Instagram post of the exchange between Emmet and Simon went viral—being viewed more than 1.4 million times and counting! Annie shared: "NOTHING compares to watching your 16-year-old kid ask a question of his leadership heroes in front of all your colleagues. That takes a ton more guts than I had at that stage of life. It will also lead to a lot more learning. My kid proves the value of staying curious, taking calculated risk, daring to chase something that excites you and relishing in the joy of a moment. I aim to be like him.” Don’t miss the podcast of Bob’s and Simon’s presentation to BWP team members.

CI Summit 2025: Building a culture of excellence, accountability and results

The 2025 Inaugural CI Summit brought together over 30 CI and operational leaders from our I&PA companies of Barry-Wehmiller for an intensive 2.5-day program. The CI Summit was held at Alliance Machine Solutions International in Spokane, WA (US). Through strategic visioning, hands-on benchmarking and collaborative workshops, participants advanced the OpEx 2.0 framework, deepened their leadership skills and expanded their professional networks. The summit featured Alliance’s CI journey, practical sessions on material availability, metrics and improvement events and the launch of the MoreSteam training pilot. Alliance was a strategic choice to host the event, as they were one of the first-ever recipients of the Inaugural Golden Donut awards for Operational Excellence. High satisfaction scores reflected the summit’s impact, with attendees highlighting the value of practical learning, leadership engagement, and actionable next steps. The event concluded with a commitment to ongoing knowledge sharing, piloting innovative training tools and driving CI excellence across the organization. NEW TECH TIP

Restart your computer weekly for optimal performance

If you're not in the habit of shutting down or restarting your computer daily, the IT Service Desk strongly recommends doing so at least once a week. A full restart helps maintain optimal system performance and prevents unexpected disruptions. Restart at the end of your workday or before heading to lunch to ensure that any pending updates complete without interrupting your workflow. This will help your computer clear memory and halt background tasks, refresh system resources, resolve software glitches, fix hardware issues and restores connectivity for any Bluetooth or internet issues. A simple restart can go a long way in keeping your computer running smoothly and reliably.
